Huskers sweep Cardinal in front of sold out crowd, improve to 14-3

Nebraska extended its win streak to six matches with a 3-0 sweep of second-ranked Stanford on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at the Devaney Center.

The Huskers won by set scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-19 to improve to 14-3 on the season. Stanford dropped to 13-2 with the loss.

Nebraska was led by Madi Kubik's 16 kills, while Lexi Sun added 13 kills and Kaitlyn Hord had 10 kills. Whitney Lauenstein had 38 assists and Kenzie Knuckles had 15 digs for the Huskers.

Stanford was led by Kathryn Plummer's 14 kills, while Caitie Baird added 10 kills. Jenna Gray had 30 assists and Elena Oglivie had 13 digs for the Cardinal.

The Huskers hit .303 as a team, while Stanford hit .222. Nebraska also had a 9-6 edge in blocks.

The win was Nebraska's first over Stanford since 2017 and its first sweep of the Cardinal since 2015.

The Huskers will return to action on Wednesday when they host Creighton at the Devaney Center.
